The Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania (SACL) has been invited to join the project jointly carried out by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and the higher courts of Europe – the network of exchange of case-law and information related to the application of the European Convention on Human Rights (hereinafter referred to as the Convention).
The main goal of the project is to establish a dialogue with higher national courts and facilitate the exchange of information on the decisions passed. The network of information exchange will enable higher courts to maintain a contact in the ECHR in order to exchange information on the ECHR case-law, the protection of rights guaranteed by the Convention and relevant national case-law. The exchange of case-law and information will be mutual, and exchange of respective scientific research will also be made possible among courts. The purpose of this network is to make the application of the Convention more structured and efficient and the dialogue between the ECHR and higher national courts more open. Cooperation is expected to help assume joint responsibility for the application of the Convention through various measures, strengthen the dialogue between the European Court of Human Rights and the states parties of higher courts.
By joining this ECHR network, SACL expects a lasting and productive dialogue as well as efficient cooperation.
