Mrs. Skirgailė Žalimienė, judge at the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania (SACL), took up the  position of  President of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania on 26 July 2022. Pursuant to the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania and the Law on Courts and in view of the recommendation of the Judicial Council, President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda signed a decree on 7 July 2022, whereby he appointed Skirgailė Žalimienė President of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania.

Mrs. Skirgailė Žalimienė has been  working as a justice at  the SACL since  2008. From 1 July 2019 until 25 July 2022 she was Deputy President of the SACL.

Earlier Mrs. Skirgailė Žalimienė worked at  the European Legal Department at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania, where  she held a position of  Deputy Director General.

In 2001, Mrs. Skirgailė Žalimienė  was awarded the title of doctor of laws. Since 1998, S. Žalimienė has been actively engaged in scientific research and teaching activities, currently S. Žalimienė is an associate professor at the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University.

President of the SACL Skirgailė Žalimienė was a member of the Examination Commission of Candidates to Judicial Office (2008-2011), a member of the Judicial Court of Honour (2011-2014), and has been a member of the Selection Commission of Candidates to Judicial Office (2014-2017 and 2020-2022).

Pursuant to the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania, judges and presidents of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania are appointed by the President of the Republic of Lithuania.
